The triathlon begins with an organized swim in the Saint Mary's University Pool. Distances vary by age and each swimmer is assigned their own lane. Wave starts help keep things organized and safe. Flotation assistance can be used (life vest only) but must be checked out by a volunteer or lifeguard prior to race start.

Race Age (as of Dec. 31, 2020)

5-7 25 yards (1 length)

8-10 75 yards (3 lengths)

11-13 125 yards (5 lengths)

After exiting the pool through the locker rooms, children will be guided directly to the "T1" transition area behind the Gostomski Field House, where they will put on their helmets and shoes, before grabbing their bikes. Once on the course, they will bike around the designated loop around the closed Saint Mary's University campus. Volunteers will help with directions as the young racers make their way toward the outdoor track. Distance is determined by Race Age (as of Dec. 31, 2020)

After handing their bikes off to a volunteer at the "T2" transition area near the outdoor track, children will race their way toward the finish line after completing their designated amount of laps, based on their age. Volunteers, refreshments and a finisher medal will greet each and every athlete when they complete their triathlon. Distance is determined by Race Age (as of Dec. 31, 2020).

Custom Awards!

All finishers receive a beautiful finisher medal, event t-shirt and other giveaways. Stick around post-race for snacks, bounce house, and dance party.
